I'm not into New Year's resolutions. At least in my experience, they tend to be unrealistic and only serve to make me experience guilt and a lack of self-worth when I inevitably "fail."

Affirmations, on the other hand, are positive and simple. There's no failing involved. We all win! You can repeat them out loud, write them down in your journal, post them on your mirror or use them as intentions in your yoga practice.

Words are powerful. When you use them, you become them. So choose wisely.

Here are some simple affirmations to use in 2018. Or create your own. I like simple "I am" statements because they are easy to remember and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. (Repetition is key.)

And if you want something tangible, empowering and super awesome, my sister has a whole deck of badass affirmations. They sold out quickly but be on the lookout for more at iamerinbrown.info.

I am worthy of my dreams

I am strong

I am whole

I am present in every moment

I am a Devine being

I am capable of greatness

I am loving and worthy of love

I am enough

I am grateful

I am open to new opportunities

Living a full, vibrant life means living with intention. Not just going through the motions. Being thoughtful about our actions and our words.

I hope 2018 brings you what you seek. And if it doesn't, I hope you gain perspective that empowers you to achieve even bigger dreams.

Happy New Year. Namaste.
