Accepting where we are right now

Accept where you are right now

IOTW (Intention of the Week) Jan. 28-Feb. 3

It's important to have goals, aspirations and dreams. It's what drives us forward and keeps us motivated.

But sometimes, I think we get so wrapped up in them that we forget to stop and feel grateful for where we are now.

Accept where you are right now. Don't wait for anybody or anything to be happy.

I can be a little impatient. I just quit my job at the end of December and have started investing more time into this blog. I can't expect it to be instantly successful. If it was that easy, everyone would do it. It takes time and commitment. But it's work I really enjoy doing ... if I stop enjoying it that’s when I need to reevaluate.

My intention this week is to accept and appreciate where I am right now. To know that it is enough, that I am enough, and that I don't need to wait until I reach any goal to be happy. I can decide to be happy now.

Lucy

I learn a lot from my dog. She's a crazy little pup, but she doesn't wait on anybody or anything to be happy. She has no expectations and lives in the now. When somebody comes to visit her ... because of course everyone who comes over is coming just to see her ... she's thrilled! She soaks it up in the moment. But she never expects it. And she doesn't sit around waiting for visitors to be happy.

Our lives are enough. We are enough. We don't have to wait on anybody or anything to be happy.
