Our baby-free Seattle vacation

Our first baby-free vacation.png

We took our first vacation since Memphis was born and we didn't take him with us. I was really anxious about leaving him but also excited to spend some one-on-one time with my husband. This was the first time I would spend a night away from him and it was not one but three nights!

I knew Memphis was in good hands. His Nana and Boppy (Kristopher's parents) drove up from Oklahoma to spend a few days with him at our house while we explored Seattle. We FaceTimed him every day, of course. I missed him, but I only cried twice. :)

First: Sports. We went to a baseball game AND a soccer game. How many wife points do I get?

We did a few touristy things. Including the Pike's Place Public Market, which we kind of did "wrong" because we went there at night but honestly it wasn't one of our top priorities. I'm glad we saw it though.

We also went to the Chihuly Garden & Glass exhibit and it did not disappoint. It's right by the Space Needle.

Every time we go on a trip, Kristopher takes a yoga class with me. This time, he took TWO yoga classes ... at two different CorePower Yoga studios.

I was pleased to find that in our airbnb, which was a condo in Capitol Hill, had a special yoga room and zen garden. How amazing is that? Of course I couldn't leave without using that yoga room.

I saved the best for last. Most of my pretty photos are from Olympic National Park. It's about a three-hour drive from Seattle, and we took a day trip to hike Hurricane Ridge and then drove a little further to enjoy the serene Crescent Lake.

By the time we left, I was more than ready to see Memphis. He picked us up at the airport and was all smiles when we got in the car. It was really sweet.

We're already talking about our first family vacation and hope to take Memphis somewhere soon!
